Prelude

I am Oklahoma’s first and only Pixel Queen. I was born and raised in Ponca City, OK., so I have some understanding of what rural life is and how folks in rural Oklahomans live. My father retired from Conoco’s Oil Refinary a few years ago. However, we lost him on January 9th 2005 to cancer. Way before his time. My mother, a big supporter of mine still lives and works in Ponca City. I am the mother of four sons who I love more than life itself. My desire is to be a good mother and to raise my four sons to become great men in our community. To do this however, requires that I stay at home to raise them. Prior to March of this year I worked part-time to contribute to the family income. Working part-time was difficult because I left my husband at home with four sons to raise in the evening. It was stressful for him to say the least. However, he never complained and he did a great job. After working part-time for a few years I decided “it” was enough. I was going to find a way to stay home and be with my children. My website, http://www.localokads.com/, is a spin off of Alex Tew’s milliondollarhomepage. I know what you are thinking; ‘You’ve seen one pixel board, you’ve seen them all’! Wrong, I am different.  My mission is to help Oklahoma’s small to large businesses advertise themselves to the world by using the power and leverage of the Internet. Many people I know do not possess the ability, time or money to create, publish, or market a web site. When I saw themilliondollarhomepage, and the tremondous success Tew had enjoyed from it, I told myself, ”This will work in Oklahoma too. Why not? There is nothing like it here,” I thought. “Why not help Oklahoma’s small business community get on the Internet to promote their business”. And from that LocalOKAds.com was born on January 23, 2006. LocalOKAds.com is devoted to publishing, hosting, and marketing web sites for Oklahoma’s small business community. We are not expensive. In fact we are really, really cheap. We can create your site, host your site, market your site and maintain your site for 5 years versus purchasing a radio ad for one week. In fact we can do it for less than $1,000. Not only do we create and host, and market your site we have a blog to express yourself, RSS news feeds to catch up on Oklahoma news, weather and sports, and a monthly feature called Spotlight on Oklahoma which details the history and highlights of Oklahoma’s towns and cities. Come to our site, see how interesting it is to look under those little pixel ads and find what lies under them. After exploring the big board, stick around, blog a bit, catch up on some news or weather. I think you will like what you see.

Until then…Stay Great Oklahoma!
