Pixel Craze in Oklahoma? 10 Reasons Why Pixels Should Not Be Feared

 bloglogo.jpg  bloglogo.jpg  bloglogo.jpg

Since I started my own Internet advertising agency back in January I have been out in the community selling my product. Many times I hear the question “Why should I advertise with you?” or “What can you do for me?” In the beginning my constant stammering chased many customers away. However, since then I have polished my answers a bit, although, I still get the door slammed in my face.

We humans are smug people, we always believe that our “thing” or “product” is the best, and people are nuts for not seeing it themselves. “What is wrong with this person,” I said to myself the other day. “Don’t they understand they recieve very little traffic to their website (Alexa rating statistics) and that means very few potential sales!” I can help them.

I understand, people don’t trust other people. Who can blame them. Look at all the ripoffs out there! After that experience I decided to alleviate everyones fears, as well as my own, and wrote why I believe Oklahoman’s with websites should advertise on www.localokads.com . Our site is unique. As far as I am aware, no one in Oklahoma has a site like LocalOKAds that offers pixel advertising, news, features, free blogging, etc.

  1. Our site is geographical. We promote Oklahoma businesses, not the entire Internet world. And we write about Oklahoma too.
  2. We have talented web designers on staff. Completely dedicated to building web sites at very reasonable prices. The lowest in the state. Go ahead take a look. Our work is out their on the Big Board. In addition, we don’t charge monthly fees. If we build your page we’ll maintain it for free no matter what.
  3. We will host and promote your site for 5 years. You can keep track of the time if you want. But, we will promote and host for 5 years.
  4. When you become our client we will actively promote your business with our weblog. We offer more than the “Million Dollar Home Page.” You will receive a greater Return On Investment.
  5. We are currently working on adding a pixel bulletin board to provide variety, and yet more coverage for our advertisers and for our Internet readers.
  6. We offer a monthly feature called “Spotlight on Oklahoma” that uncovers an Oklahoma town or city. We find out about its history and what makes it unique in Oklahoma.
  7. On our Pixel Board we offer a promotion called “Lock Out” where you the advertiser can lock out your competition for two years from placing their own advertisement on the Pixel Board.
  8. We worry about driving Internet traffic to your site. Not you. We’ve learned alot in 3 months about Internet marketing. There are thousands of sites on the Internet saying they can drive traffic to your site, but really there are only a few good ones.
  9. We can promise you that we will work hard and be honest, that our prices will be financially reasonable, and that your Internet experience will be a pleasant one. We have confidence in the products and services you provide to Oklahomans. We will do our best to generate traffic to your website.
  10. Finally, we are friends to small business folks. They are the economic blood of this state. We can succeed, however, we need each other to do so.

Well that’s my rant for now. So come on, check us out and give us a chance. At least visit the site and look around at www.localokads.com , Oklahoma’s premier site for doing business on the web.

So, until next time…Stay Great Oklahoma!

Jim Traber: The Ultimate Voice in Oklahoma

Hey, I have to admit, I am a big Jim Traber fan, a.k.a - “The Ultimate”. You can catch Jim and the rest of the Dominate Duo Monday through Friday at 2 PM on 104.9 FM, The Sports Animal, Oklahoma City, or on the Internet at http://www.thesportsanimal.com . The reason I like Traber is because I think he is a realist. He doesn’t inflate the truth.

For example, Traber is a hugh Steelers fan, he’ll admit when the Steelers are having an off year. He has no problem in saying that because he is a realist. He does not think with his heart. It is nice to have someone in sports radio who doesn’t get emotional, but speaks the truth.

In addition, I have never heard Traber speak biasely towards OU Football, OSU Basketball, the Steelers, and so on. If he believes (based on his research) OU has a shot in winning the National Championship in Football then he’ll say it. If he thinks the Steelers are going to win on Sunday and they don’t, he’ll admit he was wrong. He has no problem in doing that.

Besides being a realist, Traber can speak with authority about big time college sports or professional baseball because he used to play football/baseball for Oklahoma State University and baseball for the Baltimore Orioles. If he has too, he can talk about playing Japanese baseball because he played in Japan as well. I don’t have a “man crush” on Traber, or anything like that. It’s just refreshing for Oklahoma to have a “real” voice over the radio waves.

If you find you can’t get enough of Traber on the radio you can also read about him and follow all of the rants and raves of his listeners. He has a website/forum at http://www.jimtraber.com/ . Now, Jim can get a little loud on the radio, but really, as he admits, “I’m just a loud talker”. So, If you are listening to Jim over the radio, be sure to lower the volume on your speakers.

Hey, I’m just trying to be a realist.

Sources Say Sampson Near Deal To Be Next Hoosier Coach

ESPN is reporting that Kelvin Sampson, Oklahoma’s head basketball coach, is expected to sign a deal to be the next head coach at Indiana.

ESPN also is reporting that a news conference is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon in Bloomington to announce the hire.

I know there are a lot of Kelvin Sampson haters in Oklahoma, but can’t deny the fact that he took OU to 11 NCAA tournament appearances. In those appearances he took OU to one final four, and a number of Elite 8 and Sweet 16 showings. He won a few Big 12 Championships during that run also.

I always liked Sampson and his approach to playing defense. I was frustrated many times by the lack of offense by many OU teams. You could probably blame Sampson for that. However, it was their great defense that kept them in many games. I wish Sampson tremendous luck at Indiana.

Now, lets see what Joe Castiglione, Oklahoma’s athletic director, can come up with to replace Sampson. Has anyone heard who might be on OU’s short list?
